Visionary Women’s Association (ViKA)

Visionary Women’s Association (ViKA), located in Türkiye, is a non-governmental organisation established in 2013 to empower women and young people through education, participation and community engagement. Working at local, national and international levels, ViKA develops projects that promote gender equality, youth participation, social inclusion, mental well-being, disaster resilience and digital transformation. Since its establishment, the organisation has implemented around 30 local and more than 10 international projects while building strong partnerships with public institutions, universities and civil society organisations.

One of ViKA’s key strengths is combining innovative and creative methodologies with community-based action. Through Erasmus+ projects, cultural initiatives and capacity-building programmes, we support women’s leadership, youth engagement and social innovation. We are also accredited by AFAD (Turkish National Civil Protection Authority) and have established Türkiye’s first all-women Psychosocial Support and Social Rehabilitation Team, demonstrating our commitment to community resilience and social recovery.

Why We Want to Join the European Shapers Network

We believe that meaningful social change is built through collaboration, knowledge exchange and cross-sector partnerships. Joining the European Shapers Network would enable us to connect with like-minded organisations, share our experience in women’s empowerment, youth participation and disaster resilience, while learning from innovative practices developed across Europe.

At the same time, we aim to contribute actively to the network by developing joint initiatives, strengthening European cooperation and creating new opportunities for our members, volunteers and the communities we serve. We see this network not only as a platform for collaboration, but also as a space to co-create sustainable solutions for shared European challenges.
